Sting, come back to us!
Skopje, we will come again! – this is how the great music star Sting thanked the seven thousandth audience at “Boris Trajkovski” last night. The first concert in Macedonia in his career, which has not slowed down for four decades, brought Skopje to its feet, gave it love and emotions that will be remembered for a long time.
Top musicians who know what they are doing on stage, have a lot to give, on the other hand, and an audience eager for a world-class concert, that was the perfect balance that happened at the “Boris Trajkovski” arena. The greatest hits of Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner sounded flawlessly in all phases of his work, including with the inevitable band Police, in excellent accompaniment on stage by powerful guitarists, his son Joe Sumner, as a backing vocalist and partner on stage.
The organization of "Avalon Production" was excellent, which ensured that the "57th and 9th tour" also arrived in Macedonia. Without major congestion at the entrance and exit, an excellent stage, without technical inconsistencies - they showed that they know how to be part of the world, to welcome top artists and to rejoice in them. Sting performed several new songs from the album that bears the name of the tour, but, as expected, the audience got excited about the big hits: Englishman in New York, Desert Rose, Fields of Gold, If I Ever Lose My Faith In You, Spirits in The Material World, Every Breathe You Take and many others. Ashes to Ashes was a contribution by Sting and the team to the respected David Bowie.
The visual effects of the concert were also without exaggeration or completely in place. An artist of Sting's caliber does not need the help of additional effects. For the first time, the Macedonian audience also had the opportunity to meet Joe Sumner, Sting's son, bassist of the band Fiction Plane. With the powerful voice inherited from his father, but with his own authorial stamp, he won the audience's sympathy. Although at first, with a little distrust (which is justified by the lack of knowledge of his work), after a few songs and the joint performance as a backing vocalist, he caused a stormy ovation from the audience. Great people know how to be grateful, to respect the audience.
They even returned three times for an encore with a few songs each, and as if they themselves did not believe in the feedback from the other side of the stage. After an energetic two hours, Sting expressed his final thanks with the gentle Fragile.
Skopje has shown that it is hungry for big concerts. We wish that we would have to go to neighboring countries as rarely as possible to see our favorite stars. And this culture makes a city a metropolis!

The musician arrived in Skopje on a special flight from Budapest, and from there he is leaving for Romania, where he continues the world tour for his latest album "57th & 9th".
Sting performed with his long-time collaborators, guitarists Dominic Miller and Rufus Miller, drummer Josh Friis, and a special guest was his son Joe Sumner, who charmed the audience at the beginning of the concert.
Sting arrived at the Skopje airport today around 3 pm, and the location where he will spend the night was kept as the strictest secret. Given that he was bringing his own chef and producers, Sting had no special requirements, nor a rider list, for example, what to have around him in the wardrobe.
The concert was organized by Avalon Productions.
